Fetish Beading

The fetish was an important part of North American Native Life. Representing their spiritual medicine (or totem) and it was customary to stuff some of them with buffalo wool and a piece of an infant’s umbilical cord. Many examples can be seen in museums today. Over the years I have created many fetish pieces – horses, frogs, lizards, turtles, crabs, snakes, scorpions, and mice are just a few of them. Below are some of my fetish pieces along with my latest creation, lady bugs.
